FAQs

  • WCOOSC is a community-based, not-for-profit out of school care and vacation care children’s service. It is managed by a voluntary management committee of parents and employs a team of paid staff to run the centre. An independent bookkeeper manages the financial accounts for the centre.

WCOOSC is registered by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) is approved for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) purposes by the Department of Education (DEC).

  • As a community-based service, WCOOSC is available to the local community. Currently, WCOOSC enrolments are mostly children from Waverley Public School, with a few children from the wider community attending vacation care.

  • Information on enrolment can be found on our enrol page

  • WCOOSC is licensed to care for up to 125 children in before care, 161 in after care and 116 in vacation care.

For information on how places are allocated please visit our enrol page

  • Please visit our fees page for information on our current fees.

  • The primary source of our funding comes from the centre’s attendance fees. This is supplemented by various small funding grants from local, state and federal government sources.

The NSW Department of Education and Community (DEC) does not provide funding for WCOOSC (or other out of school care services).

WCOOSC rents space from Waverley Primary School under a Community Use Agreement.

  • Xplor is our childcare management system.

When your child is enrolled you will be invited to create an Xplor account and this will be where your WCOOSC bookings will be managed.

You will also use the Xplor App to sign your child in and out of WCOOSC.

  • Yes. Letting us know your child will be absent avoids us thinking they have gone missing!

It’s so important, we charge a non-notification fee if you don’t tell us about an after care absence. You can find our more about this here.

  • Please cancel your booking by submitting an Xplor absent request.

For before and after care, if the centre receives at least 48 hours notice of your cancellation, you will not be charged.

For vacation care, if the centre receives at least 2 weeks notice of your cancellation, you will not be charged. This longer notice period is because we have to book additional staff for vacation care.
